Job Description

Human Resources Assistant

Reports to: Human Resources Director

Who We Are
Our customer is a part of a global network of early educators dedicated to building and sustaining optimal learning and working spaces where children ages 0-5 can thrive. Here in the US, we operate 39 individual school locations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Connecticut. The Human Resources Assistant will be an intricate part of the Human Resources team to support day-to-day operations with our Home Office Team members and school-level staff.
General Summary
Assist the Human Resources department with the day-to-day operations. Specific skills and abilities are needed in the area of coordination of workload, attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and the ability for precise time management. The HR Assistant supports and enhances the organizations HR initiatives by driving results and contributing to the team efforts by accomplishing established goals.

What Youll Do
Assist employees with general HR-related inquiries
Response to employees questions
Administrative assistance for the HR Department with the potential to help out other departments
Maintain employee personnel files to ensure operational compliance
Maintain Workers Compensation claims log and supports the Executive Directors with the process as needed
Assist with Company events, meetings, and conferences
Create files for new hires and ensure they arrive at the appropriate school locations promptly
Input all background record checks and drivers license checks
Conduct reference checks for all new hires
Respond to all employee verifications
Update organization charts in real-time as needed
Maintains awareness of current trends in Human Resources
Other tasks as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Up to 1 year of experience working in a Human Resources department
Attention to fine detail
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well in a team, as well as independently
Strong organization and time management skills, ability to multitask
Strong technical skills, highly proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel

Physical Requirements
The employee must be able to sit at a desk and computer for up to 90% of the day
The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel or crouch
The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds,
The employee may travel to additional schools up to 2 hours away as needed
