Job Description

Working closely with stakeholders across the division, the Spanish Editor will be responsible for sharing content development specifications for Spanish supplemental program materials (digital and print) with content writers, reviewing and providing feedback on content drafted, and upholding content development timelines. The Spanish Editor will use their editorial expertise to develop and maintain a style guide in which all editorial decisions are documented, conduct in-depth review of all content developed, maintain open lines of communication between content writers and the rest of the team, and help with content development as needed.n. The position is highly collaborative in nature, and they will partner with stakeholders across the division to move projects forward.



Responsibilities of the Spanish Editor:


Work with a team of writers focused on supporting the digital Spanish program, with a focus on maintaining consistency and excellence within the product and with other products.

Gather feedback from key stakeholders and customers to iterate and communicate an editing process and target high standards for three key strands of editing: strong style and language consistency across the product, verification of content, and proofreading.

Assign all incoming writing, editing, and proofreading requests based on writers experience, background knowledge, strengths, and availability.

Review writers work for accuracy, consistency, and style.

Act as a writer when workflow allows.

Maintain other key documents, including: lesson and script templates, Style Guides, and source text list.


Basic Qualifications of the Spanish Editor:


Native Spanish speaker

Relevant bachelors degree

5+ years of writing experience or editing experience, with a track record of producing clean documents on time

Excellent communication skills and an ability to work harmoniously with everyone on the supplementals team, including writers, reviewers, graphic designers, and managers


Preferred Qualifications of the Spanish Editor:


Relevant advanced degree

Experience working in educational publishing
