Job Description


Reporting to the VP of Procurement you will be responsible for Conagra Brands direct physical Edible Fats and Oils procurement at competitive prices consistent with quality, quantity and delivery specifications. You'll be responsible for physical procurement activities including cash and basis contracting, resolving supply chain issues, driving cost savings and working capital plans, forecasting and communicating accurate material input costs, and supporting contract applications management. Develop relationships with internal customers and external suppliers to build positive results.


Position Responsibilities:

Manage categories as assigned.
Lead the team in ensuring supply of approximately 400+MM Lbs. in 15 types of oils annually.
Negotiate approximately $230MM in spend annually.
Primary relationship manager with the supply base and brokerages.
Point of contact for the Brands and Finance on oil's economics, forecasting, sales or innovation opportunities.
Jointly develop sourcing strategies in the assigned categories in collaboration with key functions across the Enterprise.
Establish strategic relationships with the supply base, to deliver cost savings opportunities across the business.
Negotiate, contract, and implement preferred supplier agreements.
Research market dynamics, cost drivers, supplier business models, and historical spend to enhance future negotiations for assigned categories.
Provide clear position reporting. Facilitate ease of use and consistent application of volume estimates.
Draft Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and conduct associated analysis.
Assure the service and quality requirements of Conagra Brands are met, along with the required innovation and product improvements.
Work with Operations and Brands to resolve all supply chain issues.
Resolve supplier and internal customer issues to insure a successful implementation process.
Provide concise definitions of position, risk, and risk mitigation strategies to management..
Collaborate with internal and external groups to improve the performance of Conagra Brands in the management of commodity risk and in turn, margin performance.
Guide cost savings through continuous improvement activities.
Manage supplier relationships and track Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to evaluate and report performance.
Ensure continuity of services for assigned categories by working with high quality suppliers and managing supplier performance.
Develop and maintain positive, productive, proactive relationships with several suppliers and operating company personnel.
Implement supplier strategy using industry modeling and appropriate metrics across Conagra Brands.


Position Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required
5 yrs + experience in Procurement or related field
Food Industry experience desirable
SAP, Right Angle, Excel (can perform complex functions)
