Be enthusiastic about working with children and believe you are here to make a difference in their lives! Must be physically able to perform the job of a preschool teacher. - Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectualand social needs of the children in the program.
- Utilize the computer to check email, obtain resources from the Internet, prepare lesson plans, assist children in navigating online learning platforms, and other technology needs as required to perform job functions and introduce children to a technology in the classroom.
- Ensure equipment and the classroom is clean, well maintained and safeat all times.
- Observe and monitor children’s play activities.
- Keep records on individual children, including daily observations andinformation about activities, meals served, and medications administered.
- Maintain records and documentation of child developmental progress.
- Provide weekly schedules of activities.
- Develop culturally appropriate lessons and activities.
- Develop activities that introduce math and literacy concepts.
- Be familiar with emergency procedures, signs of child abuse, and how treport suspected child abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
- Instruct children in health and personal habits such as eating, resting, and toilet habits.
- Organize and store toys and materials to ensure order in activity areas.
- Engage in ongoing staff development to improve personal and professional skills.
- Select the appropriate teaching method and adapt to children's learning styles.
- Effectively communicate with children and parents.
- Promote the center’s philosophy and educational objectives.
