Job Description

*** Maine Residents must be outside of a 50 mile radius of the hospital*** Medical Exemptions will not be considered for the COVID Vaccine**Must have 2+ years of experience in ER or ICU and/or psych as well as med/surg.The Registered Nurse is an essential member of the patient care team, responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process in all areas of the unit. As a member of the float pool, the right candidate must be willing and able to help in whichever area that there is a need. Employee could float to Orthopedic, Cardiac Telemetry, ICU, Emergency Department, Day Surgery, Ob/Gyn or Behavioral Units. They will be responsible for assessing patients upon admission, throughout stay and prior to discharge. They will be required to administer IV medications, IV therapy, blood and its components according to established clinical standards and policies.JOB REQUIREMENTSEducation:Associates Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's Degree preferredValid State of Maine RN licenseBLS certification required, ACLS preferredACLS preferable"Staff must be trained and able to demonstrate competency in the application of restraints, implementation of seclusion, monitoring, assessment, and providing care for a patient in restraint or seclusion." to ensure competency has been validated by the agency employing the staff memberExperience:Must have 2+ years of experience in ER or ICU and/or psych as well as med/surg.Other Skills Required:Will float to multiple units as neededExcellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills requiredResponsible, supportive team playerAbility to handle multiple priorities and make decisions under pressure We are an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, disability status, gender, sexual orientation, ancestry, protected veteran status, national origin, genetic information or any other legally protected status.
