Job Description


Full-time experienced Interior Designer with PM experience needed at a high-end residential interior design firm. Position is based out of NYC and requires local & some regional travel. Successful candidate will be able to assist with the design and management of projects and overall operations to ensure project deadlines are met and projects are completed in the meticulous manner the firms following & reputation are built upon. Appreciation for elegant design as well as impeccable attention to detail are must-haves.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Perform diverse design and project management duties, including but not limited to FF&E selections; quote request; CAD layouts and custom furniture drawings; orders and samples; tracking

  • Coordinate as needed debriefs and meeting follow-ups with Owner to ensure all tasks are assigned & completed

  • Liaison with staff, clients, vendors

  • Project management, tracking

  • Assist with expense management, purchase orders, tracking, invoicing, and accounting as needed.

  • Demonstrated affinity and experience in design, CAD drawing, space planning

  • Familiarity and relationships with Vendors

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Other duties as assigned


Competencies


To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:


Technical Skills



  • Keyboard speed: 45+ wpm

  • Have or develop working knowledge and continuing level of proficiency of software programs including: Microsoft O365 Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), Adobe (Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, InDesign) Google Docs, design software (autoCAD, Sketch-up); Ability to learn Studio Designer a plus

  • Familiarity with Macs and Ipads

  • Excellent research skills

  • Impeccable attention to detail

  • An aptitude to figure out new computer programs and platforms

  • Flexibility both with schedule and types of tasks to be done. We need a no task too small team player


  • A complimentary aesthetic - An appreciation for design and the ability to learn and apply our aesthetic to day-to-day operational tasks and eventually see blind spots.


  • Innovation one part curiosity, one part research, one part seeing around corners and a few more parts of implementing solutions at all levels.


  • Communication superb written & oral communication skills with range to communicate at all levels needed, clients, vendors, colleagues and more while respecting differences in the attitudes and perspectives of others. The ability to make people feel Demonstrate grace under pressure.


  • Quick learner whether its organization of projects, tracking the details of a complex project, the candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to quickly learn and process new concepts in a manner that elevates trust and confidence. Ability to follow established procedures, methods, and protocols of the office.


  • Project Management skills track the many aspects of a design project and recommend areas for improvement.


  • Problem Solving ability to define a problem; determine the cause; identify, prioritize, and select alternatives for a solution; implement a solution


  • Flexibility respond promptly to shifts in direction, priorities, and schedules; effectively pivot multiple priorities and tasks


  • Customer Service effectively communicate and relate well to all kinds of people; treat all people with respect, courtesy, and consideration; respect differences in the attitudes and perspectives of others


  • Initiatives demonstrate curiosity and enthusiasm for learning; take initiative in acquiring and mastering the skills and knowledge requirements of a position; keep abreast of current or new information through reading and other learning methods; welcome or seek assignments requiring new skills and knowledge


Education and/or Experience


Associates or Bachelors degree minimum


6-8 years Design Experience preferred
