Job Description

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for dynamic, results driven individual to join as an Electronics Hardware Architect at our Nuremberg Technical Center.

The Electronics Hardware Architect (Engineering Customer Solution Center) is responsible for providing the functional expertise and skills needed to quote various power electronics products based on customer specific requirements.

Tasks

  • Lead and support quoting activities for new business opportunities
  • Communicate requirement needs to various functional areas within the company
  • Manage and distribute specific requirements to appropriate competencies
  • Analyze customer requirements
  • Serve as the central technical interface to customers in regards to Electronics Hardware design topics
  • Create and manage mechanization and block diagrams
  • Manage requirements compliance and checklist documentation
  • Manage SharePoint project folders
  • Assist with product concepts and provide direction to senior designers
  • Assist EE/ME with Bill of Materials for various power electronic products
  • Estimate engineering related project development costs such as people, capital, and expenses
  • Assist in the design of Inverters, DCDC Converters, On-board Chargers to meet customer requirements.
  • Create customer technical review presentations as needed
  • Support various leadership communication meetings and documents
  • Think of ways / methods to reduce cost
  • Incorporate lessons learned
  • Mentor less experienced engineers; Train new hire engineers in the team
  • Lead improvements to achieve competitiveness quotes

Requirements

  • Master of Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 6 years Field Experience
  • Experience Working on Power Electronics or Automotive Electronics Products
  • Knowledge of micro-controller mechanization on Aurix micro-controllers (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of electric and hybrid electric vehicle drive systems and applications
  • Knowledge of key concepts of power electronics operation for hybrid and/or electric vehicles
  • Familiarity with Functional Safety and Cyber Security concepts
  • Familiarity with high voltage power semiconductor device technology such as Silicon IGBT, SiC MOSFETs
  • Must be confident and composed in front of the customer
  • Must be capable of at least 20% travel
