The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and executing the sourcing and procurement strategy for incoming materials and services including those to support manufacturing, MSAT, Facilities and Engineering and Quality Control. The manager will partner with stakeholders across the business to generate savings and value. Responsibilities includes sourcing, competitive bidding, risk mitigation, supplier performance management, negotiating supply contracts, and building and managing supplier commercial relationships. The Strategic Sourcing Manager must be a change agent and an advisor to business partners, adding value by introducing new approaches, performing and leveraging spend analytics to identify opportunities, and leading cross functional execution of initiatives.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Develop and execute category plans and sourcing and risk mitigation strategies
Build and maintain internal and external supplier/vendor relationships
Perform supply market analysis and continuously monitor market conditions, trends, and activity
Source new vendors in support of business needs and procurement category strategy
Manage requests for information, quotations, proposals, and the bidding process
Work with subject matter experts to create specifications and statements of work attached to RFPs
Facilitate supplier selection in accordance with company policy
Negotiate supply contracts to include pricing and business terms and conditions
Lead evaluation of potential suppliers in partnership with QA/Operations and relevant business partners
Provide subject matter expertise to support business needs
Partner with suppliers on vendor managed inventory
Identify and drive implementation of efficiencies, cost savings, and risk mitigation opportunities
Utilize problem solving as well as strategic sourcing skills to assure continuity of supply, mitigate risk and collaborate cross functionally to resolve any supplier issues
Leverage supply market knowledge to source suppliers for innovation and drive business growth and profitability
Focus on cost reduction, cost avoidance, and strong supplier relationships
Support and/or lead vendor transitions
Facilitate cross functional supplier business review meetings
Mitigate all elements of supply risk
Work closely and collaboratively with key stakeholders and subject matter experts
Qualifications

Minimum of 7 to 10 years of strategic sourcing and category management experience
5+ years industry experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment in pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device manufacturing is preferred
BA/BS degree in chemistry, biology, engineering or related field, preferred
Procurement or related certifications a plus (ISM, CPSM, CPIM, PMP)
Demonstrated experience with Procurement systems
Superior Excel and Microsoft Office Application skills

Must have the ability to work in a team-oriented environment, with suppliers, and with clients
This role operates within a professional office environment of a manufacturing operations plant. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Seating is mixed and includes open space seating, cubicle, and office space. Noise level is moderate.
