Senior Law Firm Records Manager for prominent global law firm in Washington, DC.
Duties:
Manage inactive records unit, meeting service level agreement of two hour response.
Supervise and develop a team.
Analyze workflow and processes; recommend/implement improvements.
Consult with users concerning inactive records and information management issues, develop educational materials, provides training/orientation.
Maintain confidentiality of records at all times.
Work closely with other information and records personnel.
Assist in developing information and records management policies and procedures for the firm. Participate in implementing such policies, including retention policies.
Manage relationships with offsite storage vendors, document destruction vendor, etc.
Keep current in the field of information and records management through participation in professional associations, attendance at conferences and trade shows, and training. Remain proactive in recommending adoption of new technologies and approaches.
Serve as a senior information and records management resource.
Position Requirements:
Must have at least five years of relevant experience in information, records and/or document management, including supervisory experience.
Ability to manage, motivate, and develop staff.
Experience managing active and inactive records
Ability to work in a fast paced environment, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Solid organizational skills
Knowledge of legal records management and litigation
Knowledge of legal retention issues ideal.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with internet and intranet usage and content management a plus.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
