UI-UX Designer / Developer

Location Newark, NJ (Hybrid preferred, if not we can give remote local candidates.)

Data Portal team at Prudential Financial is looking for a UI/UX Engineer to join a diverse team dedicated to providing best in class user experience and design services to our customers, stakeholders, and partners.

As a part of our CDO organization, you will design & develop software applications supporting data projects.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Design, Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or WIS equivalent combination of education and experience

Design and implement web front-end screens and functionality utilizing current technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JQuery, JavaScript and Responsive Design, Component Architecture Design on the React and other current relevant web UI technologies in order to fulfill technical design requirements of new enhancements and resolution of defects and client operability issues

Design solutions for improved usability through user centered design and iterative usability testing

Document usability and functional requirements from development to testing and release

Provide measure for effectiveness, efficiency and satisfaction of business, user, technical and brand objectives

Participate in concept development, design ideation and creation of user-centered design solutions in support of strategic business objectives and roadmap

Detailed inspection and analysis of business and brand requirements and their impact to the end user, providing design guidance and rational to ensure usable, intuitive solutions

Translate data and produce design requirements, interface standards, guidelines and prototypes that inform design efforts

Mentor and coach junior engineers and seek opportunity to bring in continuous improvements to implement UI best practices

Deep understanding and interest in design principles, typography, and white space

Requirements:

5+ years of experience as UI/UX developer

Experience developing web applications in React/other Javascript frameworks.

Good design and User Experience knowledge

Comfortable in an agile workflow and rapid iteration and experimentation

Build out designs/wireframes and discuss it with the team for best Designs and UX practices

Responsibilities:

Designing, building and maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable design and code

Ensure the best possible performance and quality of high scale web applications and services

Participate in the architecture and system design discussions

Independently perform hands on development and unit testing of the applications.

Collaborate with the development team and build individual components into complex web application

Work in a team environment with product, backend, QA and cross functional teams to deliver a project throughout the whole software development cycle

Responsible to identify and resolve any performance issues

Keep up to date with new technology development and implementation

Participate in code review to make sure standards and best practices are met
