Software Engineering Manager (gn)

Your mission

At Wandelbots, we aim to have the best engineers in the best engineering department. In order to reach that objective, we are looking for you to work in our small but growing community of engineering managers. Our goal is to create an organization of autonomous teams, and hence our managers need to fulfill these major missions:

• We create the environment in which the teams operate and deliver high-quality software and hardware for the robotics world. This includes questions of governance and operational aspects like planning budgets, staffing, or premises. We ensure that the teams get set up efficiently and keep an eye on cross-team functions.
• We focus on individual engineers. We help to define and revise roles, and we hire and develop talents. We remove obstacles and allow our engineers to focus on their objectives.
• We ensure that our teams and their visions are aligned with each other and with the company's goals. If servant leadership is what describes you, then this job may be for you.

Your profile

• You have a background as an engineer or software developer.
• You have decided to pursue a managerial career path and have experience as a team lead or manager.
• You have experience with defining and describing roles and processes.
• You like working with people, giving them guidance, understanding their needs, and leading them through changes.
• You know how to give feedback, and you also know how to obtain useful feedback.
• You are not afraid to make decisions, and you are able to help others with decision-making.
• You aren t scared by high levels of ambiguity.
• You have excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
• You are willing to be present in the office at least two-thirds of the time.

YOU ARE AWESOME IF

• You have a background in one of the following areas: Robotics, Automation, Software Development, or Manufacturing.
• You have experience in working with distributed teams or managing people remotely.
• You have worked in a high-autonomy, high-alignment organization, and you understand how to get there.
