Senior Backend Engineer - Golang

Founded in October 2014 in Berlin, JustWatch is currently the largest streaming guide in the world, available on web, mobile and TV.

We are looking for new engineers to join our adventure, grow the (small) backend team and build the next steps of our product API. There are a lot of cool things coming :)

In parallel with building our consumer apps, we re also a data-driven marketing agency for the film industry. We run digital marketing campaigns for Hollywood s latest blockbusters as well as for independent movies.

You ll design, architect and build the backend, but will also be directly involved in many product decisions, with a lot of space for growth.

In addition, for this particular role we are looking for:

• 2+ years of familiarity with the Go language, experience with Python is a plus
• 5+ years of work experience in a Backend Engineering role
• Skills around the Linux command line including basic networking and web technologies
• General knowledge and experience with relational databases
• Bonus: Familiarity with GraphQL, gRPC, Prometheus/Grafana, GCP, Postgres, Cassandra or ElasticSearch
• Fluent in English

Your responsibilities include:

• Working closely with frontend and product on the platform for over 15 million users per month: Plan data models and architecture and execute new features from beginning to end
• Collaborating closely with our infrastructure team in building highly available and reliable services
• Care for tooling, metrics and other solutions to hold up our content quality to the highest standards
• Writing, extending and debugging microservices for both existing and planned features
