Principal Architect Web (m/f/d)

For example, we transformed a traditional building materials company into an e-commerce platform and collaborated with an insurance provider as they made the leap to InsurTech.

Now, we're creating scalable products in-house. We need an expert with a growth mindset eager to drive change, collaborate with partners and develop effective solutions to conquer established markets with innovative solutions.

Tasks

We are looking for a Principal Architect (w/m/d) to shape lead shaping the architectural landscape of our exiting, challenging, enterprise-scale in-house product. Your focus in this greenfield environment will be the frontend, which will integrate with new code sitting on top of existing systems.

At Digital Seals, you will:

• Interact with clients, partners, product managers, and developers to envision, model, and design the software solution. You advocate clarity and transparency.
• Perform regular code reviews to ensure the design quality and avoid unnecessarily complicated structures. This will involve hands-on work on prototype development, code contributions, and technological assessments.
• Collaborate & mentor the development team and enhance their knowledge.

As we are currently in the Pre-Development to Prototyping Stage. Especially relevant are:

• Revisit functional and non-functional requirements
• Selecting a technology stack
• Review the current high-level architectural design and develop a detailed architectural blueprint
• Address possible risks and constraints
• Set quality standards
• Prove the solution s viability
• Develop a plan to scale development across teams as required

Requirements

• You can speak German with our clients and English with the engineering Team
• Extensive technical knowledge, especially in the frontend, with an understanding of the pros and cons of different software patterns and the confidence to make the best decisions based on requirements, capabilities, and resources.
• Profound knowledge of software functionality, performance, viability, scalability, comprehensibility, security, and technological constraints.
• Coding skills. You will lead a team of developers and must be able to clearly communicate tasks and write units to be reused for consistency, together with the ability to assess and ensure code quality. You can also leverage tools like SonarCube.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies - we are doing cloud-only, thank goodness :)
• Leadership & communication skills. You ll communicate with stakeholders, business analysts and engineers, explaining the benefits of employing certain technologies or applying a specific pattern. You enjoy explaining complex matters in simple terms.
• Problem-solving & organization. You manage the system design and should be able to identify risks in a timely manner. You know how to prioritize tasks and organize your team for efficient work.
• We're remote-first, but can only consider candidates from within the EU. We have a clear preference for a German domocile.
• Our organizational paradigm is Scrum, but we are pragmatic and solution-driven.
• Plus: Experience in the insurance/insureTech Domain.
