Responsibilities:
- Excellent employment opportunity for a Manager, Competitive Intelligence in the Santa Monica, CA area.
- The Manager, Competitive Intelligence supports global Competitive Intelligence (CI) activities in support of Company's cell therapy business.
- The role is focused on collaborating with a broad cross-functional group of stakeholders to collect, synthesize and deliver key insights about the competitive environment and the implications to Company's business related to pipeline compounds.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including Commercial, Medical Affairs, Clinical, Research, Regulatory, Corporate Development and Legal, to define objectives and research needs
- Define key strategic business questions
- Determine specific research needs and appropriate collection and synthesis methods
- Evaluate and make recommendations on CI tools, processes and services such as information dashboards, submission capturing and standardized reporting
- Develop and present key Competitive Intelligence deliverables
- Synthesis and communication of scientific and commercial insights from medical research conferences
- Maintain select competitor product profiles and competitive analyses
- Manage vendors to source relevant CI
- Ad hoc analysis of key business questions
- Manage collection of field intelligence through compliant engagement with internal sources
- Follow predefined standards to ensure legal and ethical approaches to CI, protecting business interests and confidentiality in select situations and work to improve processes
Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in Life Sciences, Marketing, or Business
- Understanding of the Hematology / Oncology Clinical Landscape (3+ years of experience)
- Strong knowledge regarding the drug development and commercialization process to assess and contextualize competitive efforts
- Demonstrated ability to perform competitive analyses and extract business insights
- Ability to interpret and synthesize pre-clinical and clinical scientific data and identify broader implications for our programs and / or specific opportunities
- History of independence in researching, formulating and delivering CI assessments (including basic information as well as strategic insights based on that information)
- Experienced with using online data sources and scientific / market databases (e.g., Pubmed, clinicaltrials.gov, TrialTrove, Evaluate Pharma, etc.)
- Proven ability to present at and facilitate small group and large group meetings (with peers as well as superiors) to achieve pre-defined objectives
- Excellent task management skills (specifically project planning, prioritization, objective setting, meeting management and plan execution) are required
- Business travel is required
- Preferred Qualifications
- Prior cell therapy and/or solid tumor experience
- Competitive Intelligence work experience preferred
