Description:

We are seeking a Compensation and Benefits Manager to join our Human Resources team for the Americas region. This person will be responsible for the compensation and benefits programs and functions for the Americas, including the following countries: USA, Canada, Mexico and Uruguay. This position will serve as the subject matter expert in the area of compensation and benefits. This position is also responsible for ensuring the organization s compensation and benefit programs are competitive, consistently administered and in compliance with internal policies and government regulations.

The Compensation and Benefits Manager will work closely with our Director of Human Resources and Chief of Staff to ensure that our benefits program supports the needs of our employees.


Responsibilities:

  • Manages the development, implementation, communication, and administration for all compensation and benefits programs
  • Manages the administration of the compensation system and performs organizational compensation studies to ensure consistent and equitable compensation among positions
  • Participates in wage/salary surveys and recommends adjustments that are in line with market trends
  • Provides oversight for the benefits orientation process for new hires
  • Performs regular HR audits and recommends solutions for issues identified
  • Maintains salary structure to ensure the organization is competitive
  • Assists with the administration of incentive and/or merit increase programs.
  • Provides leadership, coaching and supervision for assigned HR staff
  • Manages the administration of all benefits programs and retirement plans to include the benefits open enrollment process
  • Provides oversight and administration of leave administration: FMLA, Maternity, Paternity, Short-term Disability, etc.
  • Assists with the development and maintenance of compensation and benefits policies and procedures
  • Collaborates with the State Retirement System for the Local Governmental Employees Retirement System (LGERS) as needed
  • Manages and serves as the primary contact for retiree benefit plans
  • Maintains compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations for benefits and compensation

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment and possess a high degree of integrity, discipline, focus and accessibility with a results orientation. The ability to build and maintain collaborative and effective relationships with all stakeholders is crucial to the success of this position.
  • This position requires a diverse knowledge of compensation and benefits programs and practices with specific skill sets and experience in salary studies/surveys, benefits, market analysis, job classifications and evaluations, problem resolution, customer service and support, planning, and best practices in HR.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and active listening skills
  • A high level of attention to detail and decisiveness is required
  • Knowledge of all federal, state and local regulations and compliance requirements related to employee compensation and benefits.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A high level of diplomacy, confidentiality and discretion is required to effectively negotiate and resolve issues with minimal assistance.
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude using Microsoft Office Suite including Excel.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field from an accredited college/university preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources with a primary focus in compensation and benefits
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience required
  • Prefer certification designation of PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, or CCP.
