Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Automation Network Engineer (IT/OT) will provide technical leadership in the execution of industrial cybersecurity and operational technology projects and site support.

Expected Duties:

Support day to day operations of the infrastructure and applications for commercial manufacturing control systems such as Distributed Control Systems (DCS), PLC and SCADA systems, Building Automation Systems (BAS), Process Historian Systems, and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)

IT/OT control and data network assessment, security perimeter and zone model design, deployment, and maintenance planning

OT (Operational Technology) systems, interaction with traditional IT (Information Technology) systems and host evaluation

Network engineering, switching/routing, security, firewall, load balancing technologies, design, analysis, and diagnostics

Evaluation, selection, and application of technologies such as equipment inventory discovery, network intrusion detection and prevention, and remediation systems

Update/Upgrade out of date systems and migration of systems to secure networks

Adhere to good manufacturing and good documentation practice.

Raise and process change requests involving hardware / software / network changes.

Use technical knowledge to assure the efficient operation of a variety of automated processing and information technology systems.

Understand and support all safety, and environmental regulations.

Good team player with a proven ability to Interact and communicate regularly with cross

discipline teams such as operations, manufacturing, and quality representatives to achieve

common goals.

Communicates regularly with project manager with concise project reports.

Must be capable of leading a project, initiative, and team of engineers.





Requirements

Skills/Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor s degree, preferably in Engineering, Science, or Information technology or Work Equivalence
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the regulatory environment of the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
  • 3 years experience working with process automation systems
  • 3 years experience working on IT/OT and/or cybersecurity projects




Preferred:

  • Experience with the following industrial automation platforms is desired: Emerson DeltaV and Syncade, Allen Bradley PLC s, Rockwell Automation Factory Talk Suite, Werum-Korber PAS-X, OSIsoft PI, . Siemens S7,PCS7, and OpCenter Pharma ExMES, and ABB 800xA.
  • Experience with administration of Windows and Linux operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, Domain Controllers and Policy, TCP/IP Network switching, routing, segmentation, and firewall technologies, SQL, Oracle, or other Database technologies,
  • Batch Processing and ISA S88 standard
  • ISA S95 Standard
  • Knowledge of ISPE GAMP standards
