Job Description

Sales Office Manager, Bishops Stortford

We are currently recruiting a Branch Manager for an engineering company based in the Bishops Stortford area. The role is responsible for organising and managing all sales office activities, customer communications and administrative functions. The successful candidate will be leading and supporting the team to deliver first-class customer service whilst building and growing relationships with existing customers.

* Please note that this is not a business development role and therefore there is no commission scheme in place *

The Role:

  • Day to day management of a small internal sales team
  • Ensuring all live customer price agreements are managed and maintained
  • Manage and oversee all activities of the sales office ensuring first-class customer service at all times.
  • Oversee the processing of all customer enquiries ensuring sufficient information is available for the estimating team to produce a quotation
  • Monthly sales report focusing on KPIs, results, expectations, market trends, key customer movements and feedback
  • Dealing with any customer complaints through to satisfactory resolution
  • Meeting key customers throughout the year to build and maintain relationships

The Person:

  • Strong team management skills with the ability to influence, motivate and inspire the team
  • Previous experience working for an engineering business is preferable, but not essential
  • Proven track record in sales with a strong commercial background
  • Ability to build and develop excellent customer relationships
  • Knowledge and exposure to Health & Safety and quality best practices and the importance of their correct implementation

Notes from the Recruiter:

We are specifically looking for someone who has experience managing and developing customer relationships. The branch is already established and has a low turnover staff, so whilst the role does involve an element of day to day management, what we are really looking for is a candidate that is going to get involved in the commercial side of branch management such as quoting for new customers, growing existing accounts and providing sales reporting for senior management. Whilst industry experience is important we are open to applications from candidates that have experience of dealing with customers/businesses providing quotes for products or services.
