The Warm Springs Timber Company, LLC (WSTC) is a wholly owned enterprise of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs.WSTC is seeking an Administrative Forester to work with the Operations Manager in administering awarded BIA timber sales contracts including managing third party loggers and road maintenance contractors. Duties include logging and road maintenance cost analysis, negotiations, bidding and associated documentation.Other duties include working with the Log Scaling and Accounting staff on log scale analysis, stumpage and payment related matters.The Administrative Forester will function with the entire staff and be exposed to all facets of the WSTC business.
Requirements
The position requires experience and understanding in the field of forestry including Pacific NW log scaling rules, tree identification, contract management, good understanding of logging and road maintenance concepts and good computer skills.Applicant must have excellent interpersonal communication and be willing and able to work with staff to achieve success.The position requires a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry and 8 years field experience. No supervisory experience is required.Applicant must submit and pass a criminal background check, a drug screening, hold a valid drivers license and reside within 40 miles of Warm Springs, Oregon.The position is approximately 80% field work and 20% office work. Applicant must be physically capable of working in steep or difficult terrain and conditions with little to no supervision.
