Job Description:
Responsible for producing machined parts by operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine while maintaining quality and safety standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Proficient in machine operation
Loads raw materials and unloads completed parts
Required to operate multiple machines simultaneously
Performs inspection of own parts and co-worker's work
Follows instructions when selecting appropriate tooling and fixtures
Uses measurement tools i.e. snap gage, digital calipers, micrometers, optical comparator and other measuring instruments
Adjusts tooling & work offsets
Minor editing of current program
Able to run select machines in department
Able to make adjustments to assure dimensions, tolerances and quality of parts
Utilizes QMS, MAX & SPC data bases as needed
Performs preventative maintenance on equipment including top-off lubricants
Cleaning responsibilities including equipment, chip removal, and work area
Follows established procedures as well as quality and safety standards
Maintains safe work environment
Works under supervision
Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
Good working knowledge of trigonometry, geometry, basic math and measuring instruments
Basic understanding of G&M programming codes
Good understanding of machining practices
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Strong problem solving skills
Motivated and shows willingness to learn
Team player who works in cooperation with others
Demonstrates a strong mechanical aptitude.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
HS Degree or GED
1+ years machining experience preferred or a recent certificate in precision machining or related field
Experience operation Swiss/Citizen/Doosan CNC machines strongly preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Maximum lifting/carrying of 50 lbs
Frequent (66% > 34%) lifting/carrying of 10 lbs
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Machine Shop environment which may require the use of industrial hearing protection and/or other personal protective equipment
