We have partnered with a large Health Insurance company in the Newtown Square, PA area to provide them with a Performance Outcomes Strategist. (REMOTE).

Responsibilities of the Performance Outcomes Strategist:

The Performance Outcomes Strategist / Consultant is responsible for the analysis of performance measures to support clinical program evaluation. This role will manage the design and development of analytic modeling to support improvement through evidence-based population health management practices. This team will conduct advanced statistical analyses to identify and evaluate new approaches, methodologies and interventions utilizing sound statistical practices and the calculation of return on investment (ROI). Collaborates with the HEDIS Strategy & Analytics and Quality Management teams in evaluation with results in a manner that is accepted by a diverse group of stakeholders.

  • Support corporate, plan-level, and departmental strategies and goals by effectively applying both business knowledge and technical expertise to develop and implement data-driven solutions.
  • Planning and conducting health outcomes research and studies as well as publishing and presenting those data.
  • Extract and summarize data to develop predictive strategies for clinical program evaluation.
  • Conduct statistical analyses to compare performance amongst business segments.
  • Interprets and analyzes data to determine trends, identify potential causative factors and opportunities for improvement; incorporates analyses into routine monthly or ad hoc reports, using statistical tools/graphic models appropriate for data and intended audience; presents the information to various committee or performance improvement teams.
  • Calculate return on invest (ROI), support the quality management and HEDIS analytics teams in evaluating potential operational changes.
  • Assist with designing interventions and identifying barriers to improvement.
  • Communicate analytic solutions to stakeholders and implement improvements as needed to operational systems.
  • Collaborate across multiple corporate areas to understand workflows, document processes and ensure highest quality product delivery.
  • Work on a fast paced team, with minimal direction focusing on understanding the application/product/area in detail, while delivering high-quality outputs and actionable solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements of the Performance Outcomes Strategist:

  • Bachelor's Degree in applied statistics, computer science, mathematics, epidemiology, sociology, or economics.
  • Master's Degree in applied statistics, computer science, mathematics, epidemiology, sociology, or economics preferred.
  • 3-5 years experience using mathematics, statistics, modeling, business analysis, and technology to transform high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic solutions.
  • 3-5 years experience of outcomes analyses and predictive modeling design and implementation in health care field.
  • Knowledge of relevant statistical analyses and methodologies include but are not limited to generalize linear regression, logistic regression analysis, repeated measure analysis, survival analysis, cluster analysis, time-series analysis, decision tree, neural networks, and other machine learning techniques.
  • Knowledge and skill in adapting analytical techniques and evaluation criteria to the measurement and improvement of organizational productivity.
  • Knowledge of external public data such as data from CMS, census, CDC, AHRQ, etc. is a plus.
  • Healthcare publication experience with reputable journals.
  • Strong working knowledge with data visualization and geographic data analysis tools such as Tableau and ArcGIS.
  • Advanced proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency with pattern recognition and predictive modeling experience.
  • Advanced organizational, technical, analytical, and written/oral communication skills.
  • Advanced technical writing skills in business requirements, queries, reports, and presentations
  • Advanced technical skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau and statistical analysis tools such as SAS EG, SAS Enterprise Miner or R with the ability to learn other analytic tools.
  • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills with experience collecting, organizing, mining, analyzing, visualizing and disseminating abundant information with the utmost accuracy and presentation.
  • Efficiently manages time-based on the continual evaluation of priorities, meets deadlines with high-quality deliverable reflecting complete understanding of expectations, able to multi-task.
  • HEDIS experience preferred
