Job Description

Lead BI Reporting Developer Data Warehouse

Description

7-15 Years Required

Location New York Plaza, NY

Hybrid 2-3 days a week

Position Description
The candidate will work as a Lead Business Intelligence (BI) Developer within the GBT Data and Risk Management group; partnering with various other business and technology units. This position is focused on delivering tactical and strategic solutions to support the banks, data warehouse and reporting needs. Additionally the individual will work with different customer groups and support ad-hoc reporting. The individual will be part of an Agile squad working closely with team members in India and New York. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player committed to delivering on time and able to work under minimum supervision. The candidate should expect to work in a global virtual team, sometimes across multiple time zones. To be successful, the role will require the individual to understand the banking technology landscape, and to offer creative solutions that integrate current capabilities, vendor capabilities, and proprietary system builds. Developed solutions will need to adapt to changing business requirements.

Position Responsibilities
Grow and develop diverse engineering team by providing technical and professional guidance.
Design stable, scalable application database/data warehouse.
Analyze user requirements, envision system features and functionality
Lead system design and development and contribute to the architecture process.
Partner with business stakeholders and technical stakeholders to understand the requirements and translate them into technology deliverables
Understand business processes, bigger picture and core ideas behind the developed software.
Define engineering guidelines and quality control pipeline; perform code reviews.
Advocate and advance toward cutting edge engineering practices.
Work as part of a banking Agile Squad / Fleet.
Participate in all aspects of SDLC (analysis, design, coding, testing and implementation).
Actively contribute and participate in design and architecture discussions, daily stand-ups, and Agile Sprint planning sessions.
Serve as a coach/mentor for junior developers.

Required Skills
7+ years experience in a large complex banking organization or major consulting organization acting in a business intelligence developer role.
Development experience in BI tools like Business Objects, Tableau, etc. developing Universe Design and Tableau Dashboard Development.
Good database/SQL skills i.e. Writing Data Definition Language (DDL) and Data Manipulation Language (DML) statements, Writing complex SQL queries for data analysis. Data warehousing concepts (e.g., Facts, Dimensions, Star and Snowflake design, etc.) and SQL query performance tuning.
Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into report/dashboard visualization requirements.
Hands on experience in writing unit tests within a Test Driven Development (TDD) methodology.
Understanding of requirements of large enterprise applications (security, entitlements, etc.)
Good communication, teamwork, and influencing skills; ability to communicate effectively with technology and key business representatives.
Experience with working in an Agile squad/chapter setup. Practiced understanding of Agile development methodologies and understanding of DevOps Integration
Strong familiarity with Agile software/tools (e.g., JIRA) and DevOps processes and tools (e.g. Jenkins and TeamCity).
Proficient with MS Office applications: Excel, MS Project, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint.
Organized, disciplined, detail-oriented, self-motivated, multi tasking and focused on delivery.

Skills Desired
Experience in the financial services field, with emphasis on banking/lending technology.
Data Warehouse experience.
Proficiency in writing Unix scripts.
