Job Description
- Keeping track of speed limits and traffic laws to ensure safe driving practices
- Training new drivers on company policies, procedures, and safety protocols
- Reporting any accidents or incidents to supervisors immediately
- Reporting any mechanical problems with vehicles to maintenance staff for repair
- Communicating with dispatch regarding pick-ups and drop-offs, delays, emergencies, and other relevant information
- Maintaining a clean, well-maintained truck that meets company standards for appearance
- Ensuring that cargo is loaded and unloaded properly, safely, and efficiently
- Ensuring that they are familiar with all routes and schedules
- Following all federal and state regulations regarding cargo transportation
