Job Description

  • Supervises the actions of the material management section daily operations.
  • Sets work priorities for the section based on customer’s needs and Supply and Service, Director Guidance.
  • Provides section Performance Assessment input to the Supply and Service, Director and USG Material Manager.
  • Serves as the point of contact for the Critical Item List (CIL), which is used to expedite critical parts for the Readiness reports through the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).
  • Maintains interface with NICP commodity managers to expedite critical due ins, reduce ASL zero balances, and improve operational readiness (OR) posture.
  • Research and manage transactions written to the Release Strategy in GCSS-Army.
  • Review and manage Material Release Planning (MRP) Exceptions (ZMD06/MD06) IAW GCSS-Army EUM+
  • Monitors the performance measures of supported SSA’s in GCSS-Army
  • Research overdue deliveries, only if prohibiting a customer order from going National, identify issues to the SSA Accountable Officers, and take corrective action using “ZPODCHK” IAW GCSS-Army EUM.
  • Research troubled material statuses by contacting NICP Item Managers and vendors as required for maintenance reports.
