Job Description
- Performing CPR and other life support procedures while en route to the hospital or other medical facility
- Providing first aid treatment to patients in emergency situations
- Performing firefighting duties, such as searching for signs of fire activity or putting out small fires
- Transporting patients to and from hospitals or other facilities in an ambulance
- Responding to emergencies such as car accidents, natural disasters, fires, and crime scenes
- Operating specialized equipment such as hydraulic rescue tools and cutters used to breach vehicle doors during emergencies
- Conducting search and rescue operations using ropes, harnesses, and other climbing gear
- Providing training to fire departments on new equipment, techniques, and procedures
