Report To: Board of Directors
To lead the development of effective ERM frameworks, undertaking a key functional and advisory role, contributing to the achievement and objectives, and to uphold the Company’s ethics, strategies and policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop risk management strategies, risk appetite, principles, framework and policy across the Company for Risk, Investment or Reinsurance committee member.
- Provide overall leadership, vision and direction for risk management throughout the business activities.
- Develop the risk management strategy, policy and framework.
- Instill risk management principles, promote risk management awareness and embed risk culture in the Company
- Develop a cost effective “business-wide approach” to ERM.
- Guide the risk committee, audit committee and Board through the risk strategy, appetite, policies, delegated authorities and limit structures.
- Support capital management activities.
- Provide advice to the business units on risk-related issues
- Implement appropriate risk controls, processes and methodologies.
- Lead, develop, select, implement, validate and maintain processes, procedures and systems for risk management.
- Develop processes with other business units and related parties for determining, allocating, monitoring and managing capital requirements and measuring risk adjusted performance.
- Manage the activities of the risk management function, ensuring adequacy of resources.
- Coordinate different risk management areas and review risk management standards / guidelines.
- Oversee self-assessment procedures for business units.
- Review market disclosures.
- Analyze and integrate risk into decision-making process to control the impact of investment decisions on the Company.
- Advise and coach management and business units on risk management:
- Present informed and objective challenges to the executive management on risk management techniques for risk identification.
- Institute training courses, and build awareness of continuity risks.
- Co-ordinate appropriate and timely delivery of risk management information.
- Provide management with information on risk management, including loss statistics.
- Identify, escalate and oversee the resolution of risk management issues.
- Report quarterly to the Board on the management of risk and aggregate risk profile.
- Advise on sources of good practice and (outside) expertise.
People Management
- Identify, set and agree on KPIs and objectives.
- Prepare performance planning (PP) and conduct performance appraisal (PA) and PP/PA interviews including employee development plans and counsel employees on career progression opportunities and approve training requests.
- Recommend employee promotions, salary adjustments, and disciplinary actions and approve vacation and overtime.
- Identify staffing needs, participate in interviewing panels and take hiring decisions.
- Maintain and promote staff motivation by addressing employee grievances promptly and escalating when necessary and enforcing fair and equitable compliance with company policies and procedures.

Skills
Candidate Profile:
1.Requirement open for all nationals.
2.Min. 7 years of risk management and risk measurement experience.
3.Min. 10-12 years’ experience in Financial Services / Insurance Industry.
4.ERM Practice is a must and Actuarial experience is a plus.
5.Experience with Solvency II / Basel III regulations and Local Regulatory Environments.
6.Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance or a quantitative discipline.
7.Candidates from Insurance background is preferred.
