Associate - Operational Risk

Job Description

The Associate - Operational Risk will be responsible for the following:

• Contribute to the formulation of operational risk policy and support management with implementation of the same
• Analyse the risk strategy and business needs and adapt and maintain operational risk policies, procedures, processes, risk models and tools, in line with internal and/or external risk policies
• Execute structural and/or ad-hoc risk monitoring and assessments in the assigned area, to ensure accurate insight into and identify (future) risks and prevent incidents
• Contribute to classification of risk exposure and impact in the assigned area, balancing between commercial interests and possible risk, as a basis for compliant and informed decision making
• Provide advice to and create risk awareness of internal stakeholders within assigned area with regard to operational risk management
• Provide information, transfer knowledge and actively promote risk focused culture by creating awareness and a sense of responsibility regarding risk (compliance)

The Successful Applicant

The Ideal Candidate Will Have The Following

• University or higher degrees preferably in business, economics or finance
• 3-6 years of relevant experience in a operational risk at a similar financial services organisation
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance
• Good understanding of regulatory quality reviews and governance, risk and control across financial servics
• Strong communication skills
