Job Title: Corrosion Engineer (Cathodic Protection)

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Corrosion Engineer (Cathodic Protection) with a minimum of 10 years of documented experience in cathodic protection (CP) systems. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and performance of CP systems while complying with QatarEnergy s Permit to Work (PTW) system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design implement and maintain cathodic protection (CP) systems for pipelines storage tanks offshore structures and other critical assets.
- Conduct CP surveys testing monitoring and troubleshooting to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Prepare and review technical reports risk assessments and CP system evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with QatarEnergy s Permit to Work (PTW) system and Consolidated PTW system.
- Obtain and maintain PTW or ePTW certification as required by Mesaieed Operations QatarEnergy HSE.
- Collaborate with HSE maintenance and operations teams to ensure corrosion mitigation strategies are effectively implemented.
- Provide technical expertise and recommendations for corrosion control measures and coating applications.
- Participate in audits inspections and failure investigations related to CP systems.
- Ensure strict adherence to QHSE (Quality Health Safety and Environment) regulations in all CP activities.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Corrosion Engineering Materials Engineering Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in cathodic protection (CP) and corrosion control within the oil & gas industry.
- Certification in NACE CP (Cathodic Protection) Level 2 or higher is preferred.
- Proven ability to pass QatarEnergy s PTW and Consolidated PTW system.
- Must pass PTW or ePTW certification as per Mesaieed Operations QatarEnergy HSE requirements.
- Strong understanding of corrosion mechanisms CP system design and maintenance strategies.
- Familiarity with electronic PTW (ePTW) systems and HSE regulatory compliance.
- Excellent technical report writing problemsolving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Added Advantage):
- Experience with offshore and onshore CP systems in oil & gas facilities.
- Knowledge of CP rectifiers anode installations and pipeline integrity assessments.
- Familiarity with HSE best practices risk assessments and corrosion risk management.
Requirements
Minimum ten (10) years documented CP experience.
Qualification:
Candidate shall possess any of the engineering degrees:
- Bachelor s degree in Material Science and Engineering
- Bachelor s degree in Metallurgical Engineering.
- Bachelor s/ degree in Chemical Engineering

Qualifications & Experience: Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Discipline from a reputed institute. Experience: 10 years of experience in oil and gas for Diploma holders OR 5 years for Bachelor s degree holders. Proven experience in in-service inspection of oil/gas process facilities. Hands-on knowledge of pressure relieving devices and mechanical components. Familiarity with NDT techniques and valid Level II NDT certification. Certifications: API 510, API 570, API 653 (Mandatory) CSWIP 3.1 (Mandatory) Valid Level-II NDT Certification Must have held API certifications for at least 3 years. Ability to pass QatarEnergy PTW system requirements. Knowledge of HSE policies as per Mesaieed Operations QatarEnergy guidelines.
