Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detailoriented Procurement Manager to join our clients dynamic team a leading lubricant manufacturing company. The successful candidate will be responsible for the procurement of various grades of base oils additives and other raw materials essential as per company requirements. This role also involves overseeing all general procurement functions ensuring the availability of quality materials managing supplier relationships and optimizing costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Base Oil & Additives Procurement:
- Manage the procurement of different grades of base oils and additives in alignment with production requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers of base oils and additives.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to ensure costeffective purchasing.
- Monitor market trends to anticipate price changes or supply disruptions.
- General Procurement Duties:
- Procure other raw materials and goods necessary for production maintenance and company operations.
- Manage endtoend procurement activities including identifying suppliers issuing purchase orders and monitoring delivery schedules.
- Ensure that all procured materials meet quality standards and are delivered on time.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as production R&D and quality assurance to understand material needs and specifications.
- Supplier Management & Cost Control:
- Evaluate and manage supplier performance based on quality delivery and cost.
- Develop strategies to reduce procurement costs and improve efficiency without compromising on quality.
- Resolve any procurementrelated issues or discrepancies quickly and effectively.
- Inventory Management & Reporting:
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid production delays.
- Prepare and present regular procurement reports to senior management.
- Track and report on procurement budgets and costsaving initiatives.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies legal requirements and industry standards.
- Keep accurate records of all procurement transactions and contracts.
- Participate in audits and internal reviews of procurement processes.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management Business Administration Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications is plus
- Experience:
- At least 8 years of experience in procurement preferably within the manufacturing or lubricant industry.
- Proven experience in sourcing base oils and additives is highly desirable.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.
- Skills:
- Indepth knowledge of procurement processes inventory management and supplier management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Additional Requirements:
- Strong understanding of the lubricant manufacturing process and the raw materials involved.
- Ability to assess quality and specifications of various chemical products.
- Familiarity with global sourcing and supply chain management.
