In this hybrid role you will not only impart your technical expertise through instruction but also contribute to the development/revision of vocational courseware that enhances the learning experience for the customer.
You will also be responsible for developing an engaging and interactive technical courseware and providing instruction and support to General Engineering and specialty teams and its courseware.
You are expected to develop and deliver an engaging technical instruction to diverse audiences adapting teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles.
Core Activity
The Instructor/Assessor will deliver a range of training modules across the Vocational Training Program. The Instructor/Assessor will assess learner performance in accordance with the assessment strategy in force for the modules. Assessment of learners may take place from within or outside of their trade boundary to allow for independence.
As a vocational instructor you will be crucial in delivering highquality vocational training programs to students enrolled in short courses at QTI and supporting the speciality and general engineering teams as required mainly focusing on general engineering and specialty short courses or other contracted courses at QTI.
You will facilitate learning experiences that promote student engagement comprehension and skill development. Emphasising continuous improvement you will actively contribute to enhancing teaching materials and methodologies to ensure optimal learning outcomes.
Key Accountabilities
- Deliver engaging and informative vocational training sessions in accordance with course curriculum and learning objectives.
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for vocational courses and other contracted courses ensuring accurate and uptodate content delivery.
- Develop and update teaching materials including lesson plans presentations handouts and assessments to enhance student learning and interaction.
- Develop and utilize modern teaching methodologies and technologies to create dynamic and interactive learning experiences.
- Work closely with instructional teams to integrate instructional strategies and feedback into the development process.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to students to facilitate their learning progress and achievement of learning outcomes.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to student growth and development.
- Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to continuously improve course content delivery methods and assessment strategies.
- Stay informed about industry trends advancements and best practices in vocational education to incorporate relevant content into teaching materials and methodologies.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and expertise.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards in vocational education delivery.
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma or equivalent in the relevant technical field.
- Proven experience as a vocational instructor or similar role preferably in engineering or technical education.
- Instructional design skills with the ability to develop effective teaching materials and assessments to fit the required standard.
- Stay current and proficiency in modern teaching methodologies and educational technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate students effectively.
- Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement in teaching practices and student learning outcomes.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Adaptability and flexibility to meet the diverse needs of students and adapt teaching approaches accordingly.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience in training design following BSAT/DSAT model.
Completion of Typhoon Q-Course is essential. Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering or Military equivalent apprenticeship / qualifications. Academic qualification for this role is a minimum of City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent. Aircraft platform training (On a/c requirement) Requires a broad and in-depth product knowledge/competency within own technical/subject area. Awareness of how the team integrates with others in order to achieve the overall objectives of the area and demonstrates an understanding of the requirement for continuous improvement and its application Experienced and competent leader at this level. Requires a minimum of 2 years working at Technician level prior to undertaking a Supervisor role. Demonstrating breadth of experience, currency & recency via a Log Book capturing skills, knowledge and authorities for working on Aircraft type or in bays. Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices. A comprehensive knowledge of Expositions and Functionally Mandated Procedures Management training.
