Job Title: Project Management Officer Director
Scope:The PMO Director will oversee and lead project management policies and processes across Strategic Business Units (SBUs) ensuring alignment with strategic objectives ontime delivery and budget adherence. This role will manage the transition of project managers into SBU structures while maintaining PMO standards and governance.
Responsibilities:
PMO Leadership and Management:
- Manage and mentor current PMO project managers during the transition to SBUbased project management.
- Oversee and maintain PMO operations ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Develop and implement project management methodologies (e.g. waterfall SCRUM Agile) and policies.
Strategic Transformation and Transition:
- Lead the transition of project management operations from a central PMO to SBUbased structures.
- Collaborate with SBU General Managers and HR to hire and train project engineers (technical project managers).
- Create transition plans and provide training to ensure SBU project managers meet organizational standards.
Governance and Standardization:
- Establish and enforce project management standards and compliance with PMBOK guidelines.
- Align and implement IT project management tools across all SBUs.
- Conduct regular assessments of project management effectiveness and implement corrective actions.
Training and Development:
- Create and deliver training materials to enhance project management skills across SBUs.
- Conduct regular evaluations and provide feedback to SBU project managers.
Risk Management and Reporting:
- Identify project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Monitor project performance across SBUs and report to senior leadership.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and progress reports to track project status and performance.
CrossFunctional Collaboration:
- Coordinate crossfunctional teams for projects involving multiple SBUs.
- Manage external vendor projects as directed by senior leadership when projects span multiple SBUs.
Internal and Corporate Projects:
- Lead and oversee internal transformation and corporate projects as required.
- Provide support and guidance to project managers to resolve issues and challenges.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Project Management Business or a related field.
- 10 years of leadership experience in project management.
- PMP or equivalent certification (required).
- Strong knowledge of PMBOK standards IT project tools and methodologies.
- Exceptional leadership mentoring and crossfunctional coordination skills.
