Field Superintendent
Summary of Duties & Responsibilities of Field Superintendent
Field Superintendent oversees operations at drilling sites ensuring safety protocols are met managing teams and coordinating production activities. Key tasks include monitoring extraction processes troubleshooting issues and maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Planning: Drilling Superintendents collaborate with drilling engineers geologists and other stakeholders to develop drilling plans and strategies. They assess well objectives geological data and technical requirements to formulate comprehensive drilling programs. This includes determining well trajectories selecting drilling techniques designing casing and cementing programs and optimizing drilling parameters.
- Resource Management: Drilling Superintendents are responsible for resource allocation and management. They coordinate drilling rig and equipment deployment logistics and personnel assignments. They ensure that the necessary resources such as drilling crews drilling fluids and equipment are available and utilized efficiently to meet project timelines and objectives.
- Safety and Regulatory Compliance: Drilling Superintendents prioritize safety and regulatory compliance throughout drilling operations. They develop and enforce safety procedures protocols and practices to mitigate risks and ensure a safe working environment. They also ensure adherence to regulatory requirements industry standards and environmental guidelines
- Budget and Cost Control: Drilling Superintendents manage drilling budgets and control costs. They monitor expenditures analyze drilling performance and identify opportunities for cost optimization. They work closely with the drilling team and contractors to minimize nonproductive time optimize operational efficiency and reduce overall drilling cost
- Contractor Management: Drilling Superintendents coordinate and manage drilling contractors and service companies involved in the drilling operations. They oversee contract negotiations monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. They maintain effective communication and relationships with contractors to ensure smooth operations and timely project delivery.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Drilling Superintendents monitor drilling performance analyze drilling data and track progress against planned objectives. They review drilling reports evaluate drilling efficiency and identify areas for improvement. They provide regular progress updates performance analysis and operational reports to management and stakeholders.
- Problem Solving and DecisionMaking: When operational challenges or issues arise during drilling operations Drilling Superintendents are responsible for problemsolving and decisionmaking. They assess the situation analyze data and collaborate with the drilling team to develop effective solutions. They make timely decisions to address drilling problems minimize downtime and ensure the successful continuation of drilling activities.
- Team Management and Leadership: Drilling Superintendents lead and manage the drilling team including drillers supervisors and support staff. They provide guidance mentor ship and training to ensure a competent and motivated workforce. They promote a positive and collaborative work environment and foster effective communication and teamwork.
- Participate in the preparation of the Safe Job Analysis before startup of the nonroutine operation or job and ensure completion of risk assessment where required;
- Instruct his/her subordinates of their duties and responsibilities and of any special precautions to be taken prior to startup of any work;
- Promptly report any safety hazard accident nearmiss accident and nonconformance. to his/her immediate superior Be responsible for maintaining a proper housekeeping on the rig site
Requirements
Minimum Years of Experience:
- 16 Years Experience in Drilling and work over operationsor demonstrated progression of relevant assignments
Qualification
- High School Graduate/BOP Certified
- First AidCPR and H2S
- Fluent in English Spoken and Writing
