Develop and design protective relay schemes for substations and power systems.
Perform studies such as shortcircuit analysis coordination studies and system reliability assessments.
Diagnose and resolve issues related to protection systems ensuring minimal downtime.
Conduct routine tests on protective relays and associated equipment; maintain records of testing and repairs.
Ensure all protection systems comply with relevant standards (e.g. IEEE NERC).
Prepare technical documentation including system specifications operation manuals and testing reports.
Realizing the design from specifications sketches base design schematics etc. to engineering drawings
Study the received input data / specification and prepare the configuration / the Engineering / design drawings / software / detailed planning / or any other engineering document after selecting the equipment as per applicable specifications codes and standards.
Participation in design reviews
Preparing and implementing the design in accordance with the contractual standards and as per the base design prepared by the senior engineer
Design requirements analysis implementation and integration
Interfacing with the senior design engineer
Release technical purchase orders for various items/services in line with the purchasing procedure
Produce drawings for different systems based on codes and standards
Resolving any technical problem arise during production and clarifying any technical issue related to design with QC / Testing.
Supervising preparation of AsBuilt drawings after commissioning of the panels at the site.
Control of all design documents relevant to the project.
Apply all Safety procedures.
Requirements
Minimum: Qualifications:
Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum Years of Experience: 68 years in power systems protection or related areas.
Additional Requirements:
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Willingness to travel for fieldwork and site assessments as needed.
