Primary purpose of job
The Systems Engineer will be responsible for the strategic ongoing planning design and enhancement of
QATARENERGYs server deployments in the data center for Windows server environment. The focus will be on providing
robust highly available responsive secure and scalable server environment while minimizing Total Cost of Ownership
(TCO) and maximizing Return on Investment (ROI) by deploying state of the art technologies best practices policies
processes and procedures. Responsible for configuring and managing Windows Server onpremises hybrid and
infrastructure as a service (IaaS) platform workload as a Windows Server administrator.
As a subject matter experts provide technical consultancy to ICT (Information Communication & Technology) management
and staff while providing 2nd & 3rd level support for technicians during and after office hours.
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in related field including at least 5 years of technical experience in Microsoft
- A strong set of architectural skills and expertise within the infrastructure environment of a data center including capacity
- An extensive amount of experience working with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (previously known as SCCM).
- The ability to troubleshoot issues involving Active Directory Infrastructure Group Policies and Windows Server
- Exceptionally proficient in operations for automation using PowerShell and Python scripting.
- Management of Windows Servers and workloads in hybrid and onpremises infrastructures as well as high availability
- Monitor Manage and troubleshoot Windows Server environments manage virtual machines and containers.
- A desirable understanding of the security practices that are utilized in the industry concerning file systems identity
- Familiar with Project Management and Change Management processes
- Experience with the diverse services offered by Office 365 including Exchange Online Teams SharePoint Online
- Indepth knowledge of cloud computing services understanding of the functions in databases servers networking and
Bachelors degree in computer science or in a related Engineering field or Management in Information Systems.
- Relevant Industry leading Certifications from Microsoft such as Configuring Windows Server Advanced Services
