The Laser Technician will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance for laser procedures performed in the hospital clinic. This role involves operating laser equipment preparing patients for procedures and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the laser treatment area.
Key Responsibilities
- Laser Equipment Operation:
- Operate various types of laser equipment according to established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laser equipment.
- Monitor laser performance during procedures and make adjustments as needed.
- Patient Preparation:
- Prepare patients for laser procedures by following preprocedure protocols such as cleaning the treatment area and applying topical anesthetics.
- Assist the physician during the procedure as needed.
- Provide postprocedure care including applying dressings and giving patient instructions.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to strict safety protocols to minimize risks associated with laser procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized laser treatment area.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements.
- Documentation:
- Accurately document all laser procedures including patient information equipment settings and any adverse reactions.
- Maintain patient records and medical charts.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Laser Technician (CLT) or equivalent certification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a laser technician in a healthcare setting.
