The Manufacturing Engineer will develop implement and maintain methods processes and cost strategies to support the company s operations and customer needs. This role involves collaborating with department supervisors and other teams to foster continuous improvement apply lean principles and implement best practices. The Manufacturing Engineer will recommend and execute improvements in operations work instructions equipment utilization and other areas to enhance safety quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support manufacturing with problemsolving techniques such as fishbone diagrams 6S value stream mapping and job safety analysis in program launches rework and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide leadership by constructively challenging existing processes inspiring a shared vision and modeling best practices.
- Utilize process capabilities and control limits to improve quality and evaluate incoming work.
- Document and support continuous improvement efforts to reduce cycle times scrap and waste.
- Develop financial justifications for capital equipment and process changes.
- Conduct time studies method analysis and other work measurement activities.
- Use computer simulations to evaluate and improve production processes and provide recommendations for enhancements.
- Offer technical expertise and onthejob training to employees ensuring adherence to specifications in a safe costeffective and efficient manner.
- Meet key performance measures for safety quality cost productivity and timely order completion.
- Create update and maintain routings work instructions and blueprints to meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Provide support across all three plants/shifts for projects and production.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor s degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology or a related field or equivalent experience.
- 23 years of experience in manufacturing or the metals industry.
- Experience in project management applying industrial engineering methods and technical applications of manufacturing practices.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or other CAD/CAM software and geometrical tolerance specifications.
- Strong ability to communicate technical issues to internal departments vendors and customers.
- Expert mathematical and mechanical skills.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel Word Project and PowerPoint.
Preferred:
- 3 years of experience in an engineering or technology role within manufacturing or the metals industry.
- Proven success in improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Knowledge of quality tools and safety regulations.
- Experience in Value Stream Mapping Time Standards Line Balancing and Plant Floor Layout.
- Training in Lean Manufacturing Visual Factory Kanban Kaizen and Six Sigma.
- Experience in materials flow management.
- Familiarity with ERP or MRP software.
