VP Finance Fund Accounting

• Lead and mentor a team of accountants.
  
• Oversee the daytoday operations of the fund accounting department.
  
• Conduct performance reviews provide professional development opportunities and ensure team alignment with organizational goals.
  

• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements for investment funds.
  
• Oversee the preparation of periodic reports for stakeholders including investors management and regulatory bodies.
  
• Review and approve fund valuations and ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  

• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g. GAAP IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
  
• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard the integrity of financial reporting.
  
• Coordinate with external auditors during audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
  

• Oversee the reconciliation of fund accounts and resolution of discrepancies.
  
• Manage the calculation and distribution of fund income and expenses.
  
• Ensure accurate processing of capital calls distributions and other fund transactions.
  

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in fund accounting operations.
  
• Leverage technology and automation to streamline accounting processes and reporting.
  

• Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute strategic plans for the fund accounting function.
  
• Provide insights and recommendations on financial performance fund structures and investment strategies.
  

• Act as a key point of contact for investors auditors and regulatory bodies regarding fund accounting matters.
  
• Address and resolve any accounting or reporting issues raised by stakeholders.
  

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  
• Experience: Minimum of 810 years of experience in fund accounting including at least 35 years in a managerial role. Experience with investment funds private equity or hedge funds is highly desirable.
  

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles financial reporting and regulatory requirements.
  
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
  
• Excellent analytical problemsolving and organizational skills.
  
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems (e.g. ERP systems).
  
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
