Position Overview:
The Payroll Compliance Associate will be responsible for ensuring the companys payroll processes comply with all applicable federal state and local regulations. This role will play a key part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our payroll system and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with federal state and local payroll wage and hour laws and best practices.
- Review and audit payroll processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and file payrollrelated tax returns and ensure timely payment of payroll taxes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Monitor changes in payroll laws and regulations and update payroll processes accordingly.
- Conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Respond to payrollrelated inquiries from employees and management providing timely and accurate information.
- Collaborate with HR Finance and other departments to ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing.
- Assist with the preparation of reports for internal and external audits.
- Maintain accurate and organized payroll records and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Human Resources or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of federal state and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Proficiency with payroll software (e.g. ADP Paychex) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Experience:
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification is a plus.
- Experience with multistate payroll processing.
- Previous Experience in the construction/manufacturing industry.
