TLIP is architected on IOTAs decentralized infrastructure technology enabling governments and businesses to exchange trade data in a secure and trusted manner. Already live in Kenya where the TLIP platform is integrated into the government systems it is used by large and small organisations to streamline their international trader administration and processes. The next phase of our programme will expand TLIP into international markets with the UK and EU our primary focus.
The digitalization of todays fragmented paperbased international trade procedures with platforms such as TLIP increases efficiency and reduces the cost of access to international markets. Developing economies and small trader communities stand to benefit significantly with increased access to new markets which stimulate local growth and job creation. The increasing focus on the management of the environmental impact of international trade can also be more effectively monitored and regulated through a digital trade capability. More information can be found here:
The core principles of TLIP incorporate a focus on supporting emerging economies using a notforprofit governing foundation and access to code via Open Source principles. Large companies and governments engage with TLIP through open APIs but supply chains are characterized by a large number of small and middlesized companies both in the Northern and Southern hemispheres that will work through webbased and mobile applications.
