Sr Embedded Software Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION: V Charging Infrastructure (EVCI)
The EVCI group at NIS is developing a range of electric vehicle charging station products and corresponding software tools and services to be launched in the North American market. These chargers are developed in cooperation with other Nidec teams and will be manufactured at our location in Cleveland OH.

Job Description

1. The embedded software engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions for embedded systems focusing on Linuxbased platforms.
2. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in C/C programming on Linux platforms.
3. In addition the engineer should be wellversed in communication protocols such as Modbus CAN and RS232/485.
4. Familiarity with electric vehicle charging systems and switch mode power supplies is highly desirable.
5. The role involves designing implementing and testing software modules ensuring optimal performance reliability and compatibility with the target EVSE hardware.

Updates: The contractor embedded software engineer will be responsible for developing and deploying embedded software solutions in C within Linux environments. The ideal candidate should have experience in key communication protocols such as Modbus CANbus TCP/IP and REST. They will demonstrate confident skills in embedded application coding integration testing and deployment. Experience developing Linux device drivers a plus. A strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) is essential ensuring the engineer follows best practices throughout the development process. Collaborating with crossfunctional teams the contractor will gather requirements design and implement robust software solutions conduct thorough testing and ensure seamless integration into embedded systems. Strong problemsolving skills attention to detail and the ability to work independently will contribute to the contractors success in this role.
