Position Special Education Instructor DHH Specialty

• Adapting and modifying curriculum materials
  
• Conducting assessments to monitor progress
  
• Delivering direct instruction tailored to each students needs
  
• Providing training and resources to staff to enhance student support
  
• Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  
• Facilitating effective communication among students teachers and families
  

Requirements

• Exceptional communication skills.
  
• Bachelor s Degree in Deaf Education/Special Education.
  
• Expertise in American Sign Language (ASL) is highly preferred.
  
• Valid Illinois PEL certification with an endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
  
• Knowledge of the IEP process and experience in developing and implementing IEPs.
  
• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a school setting.
