Quality Engineer

About the job

The Quality Engineer is a member of the team of software professionals responsible for the analysis design programming testing and maintenance of the Clinisys software products. He/she translates software requirements or specifications into testable scenarios. The Quality Engineer develops moderately complex test scenarios that can be tested manually or automatically. He/she may act as Lead Quality Engineer for small projects or subprojects.

Job Summary

• Supporting of all phases in the lifecycle of a software development from analysis design and programming to testing.
• Develop and maintain test scenarios according to requirements or functional design specifications and apply a common sense approach that serves to recognize potential design gaps and provide insight into closing them.
• Automate new or a selection of existing test scenarios.
• Execution of the testing as part of the lifecycle of a software development both manually and automatically.
• Execution and maintenance of regression testing related to planned software releases.
• Provide 3rd line support and guidance to less experienced colleagues.
• Collaborate closely with all stakeholders: the product manager functional analysts and the software development and documentation team.
• Propose improvement of internal procedures helping to increase the organisational efficiency.

• Take responsibility for all testrelated aspects of the software development process from researching analysing designing and executing test scenarios either described as manual scenarios or automated scenarios.

• Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness. Look for ways to improve and promote quality. Apply feedback to improve performance. Monitor own work to ensure quality.
• Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Create reliable functional covering and reusable test scenarios.

• Take ownership and be responsive to 3rd line support requests.
• Be aware of the companys product delivery and software development plans and your responsibilities therein.
• Able to integrate within a team of Software Development and Test Engineers but also capable of working autonomously.
• Able to translate software specifications into test scenarios.
• Able to document test results/reports.
