Financial Modeling Analyst Banking (Mid/Senior Level) for Ignition Capital LLC a New Yorkbased investment management firm (remote)
Ignition Capital offers three product verticals:
Advisory Services: Provides outsourced strategic CFO strategy execution framework engineering and implementation marketing tech and general oversight to drive efficiency.
Portfolio Management: Actively manages a multivertical portfolio of companies it has invested in.
Investment Structuring and Capital Raising: Structures small to midmarket companies for investability conducts the capital raise and stays on as a board advisor to guide and facilitate execution once the capital is in place.
Your potential manager Jacqueline Kapur is the Founder & Chief Executive Officer at Ignition Capital LLC. She has proven success in formulating and executing strategies and budgets for both startups and established businesses. Jacqueline is a thoughtful and experienced leader in finance business development operations marketing and HR across industries including information technology media research data financial services and consumer products. She possesses excellent communication and people skills with significant experience navigating Clevel management through major strategic changes.
Now she & her team are seeking a Financial Modeling Analyst with a strong background in banking to develop financial models for earlystage VC companies. This role involves building comprehensive financial models from scratch and supporting USbased analysts. The ideal candidate should have experience with the US market excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fastpaced environment.
Key responsibilities:
Develop detailed financial models for earlystage VC companies from scratch.
Perform backend financial analysis and modeling to support client projects.
Maintain a portfolio of financial models ensuring they meet high standards of quality and accuracy.
Collaborate with USbased senior analysts to ensure model accuracy and relevance.
Communicate effectively with team members and potentially grow into a clientfacing role.
Understand and apply US banking practices and standards in all financial models.
Handle multiple projects efficiently meeting deadlines and client expectations.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of experience in the US market specifically in banking.
Proven experience in building financial models from scratch ideally for VC companies.
Strong understanding of US financial services and banking terminology.
Excellent communication skills capable of engaging in fastpaced discussions involving complex financial vocabulary.
Fluent in English with the ability to understand and adapt to US client communication styles.
Excellent attention to detail you should be the person who cares about every small detail while working with numbers.
Strong selfreliance and the ability to create solutions and make decisions on your own with the minimum required confirmations. If you dont know something you need to be independent enough to Google and not get stuck on a problem.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with earlystage VC companies is highly recommended.
Educational background from US schools or significant exposure to the US market preferred.
Working hours:
Parttime mostly between 9 am and 6 pm EST (check the time difference via the link) but flexibility is essential to accommodate 90% of clients based in PST. Candidates must be willing to adjust for client calls even outside regular hours to listen in and engage as needed.
