Operator 2 Machine

**2nd Shift Production Schedule 10hr./4day work week or 8hr./5day work week**
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

Pay Rate: XX18.00/hour

Performs routine production functions including filling utility operations packing packaging assembling labeling and inspecting under general supervision.
Maintains accurate records and logs in accordance with FDA (Food and Drug Administration) GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and ISO9000 (International Organization for Standardization).
Effectively works in a team setting supporting team goals and objectives. Makes effective decisions relative to position requirements.
Must follow instructions and work within routine standard practices making decisions as required. Works under direct supervision following standard operating procedures.
One to two years experience. Develops skills in basic tasks techniques and procedures within one skill area / process / method. Applies basic knowledge and skills to complete routine tasks consisting of prescribed steps. Effective communication skills at a level coworkers and Team Lead/Supervisor can understand. Ability to read write interpret and comprehend specifications written in English and perform basic math calculations. Must be able to work flexible and/or extended hours and report to work on a regular punctual basis. Ability to get along with people and be able to work in a team environment. Willingness to rotate into different tasks and responsibilities.

**Job Overview**
Provides support with production equipment and other production supplies as needed. Disassembles used or faulty equipment and cleans each component of the unit thoroughly reassembles each component wraps and codes all according to associated procedures. Responsible for rotating dated equipment and raw materials following established procedure. May operate the autoclave and any other apparatus to process equipment per approved procedures. Responsible for delivering all production supplies to designated locations. Monitors kitchen supplies to ensure sufficient availability in order to complete tasks. Responsible for creating requisitions for ordering kitchen supplies to ensure appropriate inventory.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
o Disassembles used or faulty equipment and cleans each component of the unit thoroughly reassembles each component wraps and codes all according to IMWs.
o Responsible for rotating dated equipment and raw materials following established procedure.
o May operate the autoclave and any other apparatus to process equipment per approved procedures.
o May provide tube cleaning wrapping and autoclave as needed per shift needs.
o Responsible for delivering all production supplies to designated locations.
o Monitors kitchen supplies to ensure sufficient availability in order to complete tasks.
o Responsible for creating requisitions for ordering kitchen supplies to ensure appropriate inventory.
o Works with supervision engineering and/or maintenance personnel to develop process improvements and equipment improvements.
o Supports the Equipment Processing team by identifying any team training needs and facilitates the resulting training with supervision as applicable.
o Maintains a neat organized and clean work area.
o Works with and coordinates with other shifts to maintain sufficient and correct amount of sterilized equipment and proper condition of work area.
o May perform clean up functions in sterilized areas
o Demonstrates the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
o Must follow all BD housekeeping policies and procedures
o Must follow all BD safety policies and procedures
o Must be able to work overtime as required to meet BD business requirements
o Perform other duties as required

**Qualifications**
o Being able to work independently and demonstrate effective time management required
o Can effectively work in a team setting and communicate effectively across the department
o Strong attention to detail
o Ability to be punctual in order to ensure production
o Ability to work on assignments that are semiroutine in nature with the skill to recognize any deviations from specification
o Ability to operate independently within the constraints of approved processrelated documentation
o Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
o Ability to operate material handling equipment including manual and electrical pallet jacks and walkiestacker lift
o Ability to operate automated floor scrubber
o Must be able to stand walk and climb stairs 50% to 95% of the workday.
o Must be capable of passing the physical examination for forklift operations and respirator fit test.
o Routine use of Safety glasses steeltoed shoes respirators and hearing protection may be required. Must be used if required.

**Proficient/Working Skills**
o Must be proficient in English with the ability to read write analyze/evaluate charts follow simple diagrams and perform basic arithmetic
o Basic proficiency with PCs (Personal Computers) and basic use of a Windows environment is required
