Job Description:
The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for providing clerical and administrative support to the accounting department. This role involves maintaining financial records processing transactions and ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate financial records.
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
- Reconcile bank statements and other accounts.
- Assist with monthend and yearend closing procedures.
- Prepare invoices and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Maintain and organize financial documents and records.
- Support payroll processing as needed.
- Assist with audits and other financial reporting requirements.
- Perform other clerical tasks such as filing data entry and answering phones.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
- 12 years of experience in an accounting.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP etc.) is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Reliable and able to maintain confidentiality.
