Cancellation Policy: 3x per 13week contract. Subject to change

Responsibilities

1. Screens pap smears and nongynecological slides and reports results according to established protocol.

2. Review patient history in association with screening cytology slides.

3. Documents workload and submits weekly reports for review. Review discrepant cases with a Pathologist to improve and provide quality patient care.

4. Maintains a False Negative Proportion (FNP) of 12% of the lab average but does not exceed a 5% overall FNP.

5. Maintains an 80100% Diagnostic Correlation with the Pathologist.

6. Maintains gyn statistical analysis rates of 5% as compared to the laboratorys overall rates.

7. Maintains individual workload limit as set forth by the supervisor/director derived from the employees 6month performance appraisal.

8. Completes special assignments as designated by the supervisor in a timely and professional manner.

9. Assists with Fine Needle Aspiration(FNA) adequacy assessments throughout various procedure areas in the hospital.

Job Accountabilities

1. Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations to the supervisor and implements and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland.

2. Stays abreast of the latest developments advancements and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops reading professional journals actively participating in professional organizations and/or maintaining certification or licensure. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.

3. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules regulations policies laws and guidelines that impact the area. Develop effective internal controls designed to promote adherence to applicable laws accreditation agency requirements and federal state and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding.
