Key responsibilities:
Development & Qualification of Supplier Product/Process
Quality System Assessments
Capability Assessments and Continuous Improvement
Material Specifications and Quality Assurance
Lead in evaluation of New Suppliers / Taking lead on Assessment Audit
Lead APQP process as part of new product launch
Support Supplier APQP Process
Ensure clear understanding of BW Requirements and Report Supplier APQP progress.
Supplier PPAP Submissions
Responsible for ensuring all PPAP requirements are met and documentation is up to date and on file for
components within assigned commodities
Assure APQP/PPAP timing remains on time and meets Launch timing objectives
Coordinate technical reviews and assessments
Develop supplier capabilities to meet BW requirements
Conduct Supplier Quality training at Suppliers
Drive performance improvements to the established objectives at Suppliers
Coordinate cross functional technical problem resolution at Supplier
Proactively work with Suppliers to minimize and/or eliminate Launch issues
Coordinate Change Management Process with Suppliers
Support/Lead Supplier Quality Improvement Actions to reduce CPM / PPM issues
Support/Lead 8D Verification and follow as required on high severity / recurring supplier issues
Conduct Supplier Quality Training at Suppliers facilities to meet BorgWarner's and/or Customer's specific

Quality expectations/requirements:

Host Supplier Quality Training Sessions at Borg Warner's manufacturing facilities
Conduct Supplier Audits/Assessments at Supplier's facility
Identify gaps and train/develop SDEs in areas needed for skill set improvement
What were Education
looking for Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a fouryear College or University is highly recommended or equivalent
applicable experience in Specific Engineering expertise.
Knowledge and/or Experience
8 to 12 years of experience in supplier development activities (SDE STA or SQE)
Well versed in reading drawings GD&T and setting up Quality Inspection plans
Experience on Commodities Sheetmetal Plating Rubber Plastics Electronic Components (PCBA
Wiring Harness)
Knowledge in manufacturing problem solving (8D Methodology) and manufacturing processes required
Hands on experience in SPC Process capability 7QC tools structured problem solving Six Sigma
Effective at defining problems collecting data establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.
Certified VDA Auditor(Preferred)
Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with
abstract and/or concrete variables
Knowledge of TS16949 requirements including AIAG APQP PFMEA MSA and PPAP required
Fluent in English Communication / Computer Skills
Computer Skills Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel Outlook and PowerPoint
Ability to communicate to subordinates and give constructive feedback
Effective summary and presentation ability to respond to questions from Management and Customers.
Experience managing a team with direct reports

Coach and Develop Ensure subordinates are being developed keeping in mind the succession
planning for his/her and other growth

long term sustenance. Also ensure standards are reviewed on right frequency considering continuous
improvement in mind
Decision Quality: Support team and ensure right tools are used to take quality decisions Able to
demonstrate to team the handson uses of quality tools to solve problems / making decisions Strong
Data Analysis skills
Interpersonal savvy: Relates well to all kinds of people up down and sideways inside and outside the
organization. Builds appropriate rapport. Builds constructive and effective relationships. Uses diplomacy
and tact. Can diffuse even hightension situations comfortably.
