Training Instructor

Reporting to: ILS & Training Manager

Job Scope

The position holder will be a key member of the team developing planning and delivering training for the clients equipment and some third party equipment in the Naval Surveillance and Government market sectors.

The job will involve travel within the UK and overseas.

As part of this role the holder is expected to show motivation and initiative in planning their own activities so as to achieve timely and effective results with little supervision.

As this is a customerfacing role a confident manner and smart appearance is required with the ability to communicate clearly within the company at all levels and with customers whose first language may not be English.

Job Functions

Developing planning and presenting training courses for the range of their equipment systems and certain third party equipment.

Support a culture of continuous improvement.

Take a proactive role in the growth and development of the company.

Travel in the UK and if overseas when required to carry out training.

Maintain an uptodate knowledge of the products. This may involve accompanying Engineers in the field carrying out service interventions.

Any other task associated with this role.

Requirements

The successful applicant will be computer literate with a good standard of written English capable of compiling accurate detailed and well presented training documentation.

The applicant should have a practical knowledge of computer networking.

The applicant should be prepared to work at heights for which training would be given.

Qualifications

Ideally qualified to A level or higher in an engineering discipline.

Physical Attributes

The ability to walk 300400 metres with to a tool kit possible weight of 10 Kilos.

The ability to walk up the equivalent of 10 flights of stairs then could be a further 10 metres on a ladder.

The ability to work in tight spaces needing to twist and manoeuvre your body.

Employee Compliance

The job holder will be expected to comply with any reasonable operational instruction or procedures relating to Company policies reporting and controls. Section 7 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 provides a duty on every employee while at work to take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work.

It also places a duty on employees to cooperate with their employer so far as is necessary to enable their duties to be complied with including the appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Failure to comply with this duty may result in the Company invoking the disciplinary procedure.
