Position: Category Manager
Location: Lagos Nigeria
Reports to: Head of Marketing / Marketing Director
Role Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and resultsdriven Category Manager to lead our drinks category. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing category strategies to drive growth profitability and market share. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of the FMCG market in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Category Strategy Development: Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies that align with overall business goals. Analyse market trends consumer insights and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities.
- Product Management: Oversee the product lifecycle from concept to launch ensuring timely delivery and optimal performance. Work closely with R&D production and supply chain teams to manage product development and inventory.
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis to understand consumer needs preferences and behaviours. Use datadriven insights to inform decisionmaking and strategy adjustments.
- Promotions and Pricing: Develop pricing strategies and promotional plans to maximize sales and profitability. Coordinate with the sales and marketing teams to ensure effective execution.
- Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and distributors. Negotiate contracts manage vendor performance and ensure consistent supply of highquality products.
- Sales Support: Provide support to the sales team with category insights promotional materials and training. Monitor sales performance and adjust strategies as needed.
- Budget Management: Manage category budgets ensuring efficient allocation of resources and tracking of expenditures.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on category performance including sales market share and profitability. Present findings and recommendations to senior management.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Marketing Business Administration or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years experience in category management product management or marketing within the FMCG sector preferably in the drinks category.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends.
- Excellent strategic thinking and problemsolving abilities.
- Proven track record of driving category growth and achieving business objectives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with crossfunctional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel PowerPoint Word).
- Knowledge of the Nigerian FMCG market and consumer behaviour is highly desirable.
