Themis Recruit are seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Solicitor specializing in Public Law to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload including child protection care proceedings and other public law matters. You will work closely with local authorities parents guardians and other stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for children and families involved in the legal process ideal candidate will have the Law Society Childrens Panel Accreditation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Manage a caseload of public law family matters including care proceedings child protection issues and other related cases.
- Legal Advice: Provide comprehensive legal advice to clients including local authorities parents and guardians ensuring they understand their rights and options.
- Court Representation: Represent clients in court including preparation of case files witness statements and other necessary documentation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with social services healthcare professionals and other agencies involved in child welfare.
- Documentation: Prepare and review legal documents ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Client Support: Offer empathetic and practical support to clients throughout the legal process maintaining a clientfocused approach.
- Compliance: Stay updated with changes in family and public law ensuring all work adheres to current legislation and best practices.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development including attending relevant training and workshops.
Requirements
Education: Qualified Solicitor with a current practising certificate.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years postqualification experience in family law with a strong focus on public law matters.
Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to manage a diverse and demanding caseload.
Proficiency in legal research and documentation.
Empathy and sensitivity when dealing with vulnerable clients.
Knowledge: Indepth knowledge of public law relating to family and child protection including relevant legislation and case law.
IT Skills: Proficient in using case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
