IDEAL CANDIDATE:

*** Ideal candidate would be an experienced Medical Lab Scientist. We would accept a Medical Lab Technician (Associates) but either way the candidate must have completed a Clinical Laboratory Science program.

Must be eligible to test for ASCP but do not need to have the certification.

If they have AMT cert that is acceptable***

Qualifications:

4 years/bachelors degree (if Medical Lab Scientist)

2 years/associates degree (if Medical Lab Technologist)

Responsibilities:

Performs a wide range of complexity clinical laboratory assays

Evaluates validity of results obtained

Troubleshoots equipment and/or testing problems

Performs and reviews quality control and preventive maintenance

Accurately reports results and performs other duties as assigned

Performs procedures under the supervision of supervisor

Interprets test results to assist physicians in diagnosis.

May perform duties in one the following areas: Chemistry Hematology Blood Bank RIA/Serology Urinalysis Coagulation and Microbiology

Perform lists and studies for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases

The nature of the work may vary depending upon the workload and the assigned duties.
